Case Study IYC Impact Lab: Mattel Spring 2024

Mattel partnered with IYC students to reimagine how toys can support positive social-emotional learning(SEL) and development in both individual and group settings. Focused on inclusivity, the challenge aimed to create gender-neutral designs that encourage boys to explore nurturing and protective play while fostering creativity and self-expression. Students were tasked with designing innovative toy concepts that integrate physical and technological elements, promoting emotional growth, connection, and inclusivity. Their solutions included compelling pitches, prototypes, and multimedia campaigns, offering fresh perspectives to transform playtime into a powerful tool for personal and social development.
